HIDDEN FLOATING SHELF BRACKETS

We've designed the most installation friendly Floating Shelf Bracket System for your DIY Project. With our patent pending design consisting of a screw hole every inch along the bracket, you can mount your shelf anywhere on your wall regardless of where your studs are located. This is extremely important - especially in kitchens where you will need an exact placement for your shelf, for example, between two upper cabinets. In addition to the versatility of placement, our brackets have simplified your floating shelf installation process. There are basically 2 steps - 1) Drill holes in your shelf for the bracket rods and 2) Mount the bracket to the wall. Your shelf then simply slides over your bracket. This will save you a lot of time, and in the end, you will have a shelf strong enough to hold 50 pounds per stud.

STEP 1

Choose the correct Bracket Type depending on your Shelf Thickness

We offer 3 styles of floating shelf brackets: The 9ER bracket, The Standard Bracket, and The Mantel Bracket.

The bracket you'll need will depend on the thickness of your shelf.

The 9ER Bracket - (named the "niner" bracket because it's 9/10 of an inch tall) for shelves that are 1-1/2" thick. If you're using dimensional lumber which are 2x6's, 2x8's, 2x10s, and 2x12s then you'll use this bracket. Note: dimensional lumber is 1-1/2" thick even though they are called 2x6's etc. thus the reason for using the 9ER bracket.

The Standard Bracket - for shelves that are 1-3/4" to 2-3/4" thick. These are for most shelves that are made from hardwoods such as walnut, oak, alder, maple, and others. This is our most popular bracket.

The Mantel Bracket - for shelves 3" and thicker.

PATENT PENDING DESIGN

MOUNT ANYWHERE / ALWAYS HIT A STUD

Don't let your stud placement influence your shelf placement. With Our Floating Shelf Brackets by Studlock you can now place your floating shelf where you want to, not where you have to. This is made possible with Studlocks patent pending design of a key hole every inch for which you can mount the bracket to wall studs no matter where your bracket is located.

MEET THE CREATOR

KRIS MERRILL

Kris Merrill, a custom cabinet builder, and owner of Merrill Woodworking, began receiving requests for floating shelves for his clients' kitchens and other areas of the home. After using the laborious process of building interior frames for the shelves or using brackets available at the time, Kris sought out to design a much more simplified solution. One of the things he found restricting was the freedom to place the shelf anywhere along the wall regardless of the placement of the wall studs. The solution was to place a mounting hole every inch. The only problem was if you place a hole every inch in the middle of the back plate, it minimizes the integrity and weight capacity of the bracket. Also, punching a hole at every inch creates manufacturing issues. After contemplating the issues, Kris invented the idea of a key hole design around the perimeter of the bracket in which the mounting screws lock into bracket. With this invention, you can now mount your shelf anywhere and always hit a stud. Thanks Kris!
