2025 Home Decor Trends

2025 Home Decor Trends

Austin Merrill |

As we step into 2025, the world of home decor is evolving with exciting new trends that blend innovation, sustainability, and personal expression. Whether you're planning a full renovation or just looking for small updates to refresh your space, these trends are sure to inspire your next project.

As with any new trend, you don't have to start from scratch. Our favorite way to bring current trends into our home is by simply incorporating element of new trends into our current home decor. This saves us money and time and keeps our home feeling like our home, not a trendy magazine.

Something Fishy

Often, trends we see in clothing show up in home decor trends as well. In 2025, you'll see more people dressing in the colorful, fishermen aesthetic and those same fun colors, textures, and themes will also show up in home decor.

Look for sardine themes, colorful stripes, and lots of lovely textures made from natural fibers. Bright yellows, reds, blues, and greens — colors you'd see in a Faroe Island house — will be more popular in 2025. If you want to incorporate some of these colors into your home, consider starting with wall art and throw pillows and go from there.

Cherry Picked

Cherry red will be all the rage in 2025. Whether you color drench a room in a rich red, or simply add a few touches of red around an already decorated room, adding a cherry hue can be a fun way to add something new and interesting to a tired space.

Try pairing a deep, cherry red with warm neutrals or other shades of reds and pinks. For a look with more contrast, pair a deep cherry with shades of blue.

"The green that will dominate 2025 will be much bolder and brighter"

Adding a new color to your space, even in a small dose, can completely transform a room. Along with red, bright green will also be in abundance in 2025. While we have seen lots of soothing green hues in the last few years, the green that will dominate 2025 will be much bolder and brighter: think pickles, tennis courts, and Matcha.

N is for Nostalgia

Gone are the days of cookie-cutter interiors. Personalization is key, with homeowners incorporating vintage finds, family heirlooms, and DIY projects into their decor. Nostalgic elements like retro color palettes, antique furniture, and mid-century modern accents offer a sense of warmth and individuality.

When we're looking for an easy way to display your best nostalgic decor, look no further than your floating shelves. Floating shelves are a great way to display personal items like trophies, old photographs, travel souvenirs, and more.

If you want to give the look of nostalgia and a homegrown room, but you're missing personal sentimental items, the look can be faked with thrift shop finds. Thrifting is a great way to help create a home that has a genuine, collected feel.

More is More

While minimalism dominated previous years, maximalism is making a bold comeback in 2025. Vibrant patterns, layered textures, and eclectic combinations are key elements of this trend. Think bold wallpapers with oversized florals, colorful mosaic tiles, and plush, patterned rugs. The idea is to create spaces that reflect your personality and spark joy.
