UltraShelf Limited Lifetime Warranty

UltraShelf Limited Lifetime Warranty

Lifetime Warranty on Hardware, Wood & Workmanship

Last updated: October 8, 2026. Effective October 8, 2026. If you ordered before October 8, 2026, whichever terms are more favorable to you apply — see General Warranty Terms below.

Our Promise to You

UltraShelf shelves and mantels are made in our own 22,500 square foot hardwood facility in Rigby, Idaho, by a team that has been working hardwood on that floor for three decades. We mill, texture and finish every shelf before it ships. We stand behind that work with lifetime coverage on hardware, wood and workmanship.

UltraShelf is a Murphy Door company, and this warranty brings UltraShelf's coverage in line with the warranty Murphy Door offers on its own products.

What's Covered

Covered for the Lifetime of Your Product

The following are warranted to the original purchaser for the lifetime of the product against defects in materials and workmanship under normal indoor residential or office use:

Hardware

  • Steel Studlock brackets in every style — 9ER, Standard and Mantel
  • The UltraBracket™
  • Bracket rods, mounting plates and the fasteners supplied with your bracket

“Hardware” means the bracket system and the parts supplied with it. It does not include installation tools, bits or jigs, fasteners and anchors sold separately from a bracket, or third-party branded products — see What Is Not Covered.

Wood and Shelf Bodies

  • Solid hardwood floating shelves, shelf sets and mantels
  • Solid hardwood cutting boards, charcuterie boards and accessories
  • The High Density Fiber Board body used in our painted shelves

Shelf Load

  • Studlock Bracket shelves and Studlock Brackets are guaranteed to support up to 50 pounds per stud when installed according to the provided installation instructions.
  • Shelf lines that do not use the steel Studlock bracket are guaranteed to the load figure published on their own product page. The 50 pounds per stud guarantee above applies to Studlock Bracket shelves and Studlock Brackets, not to these lines:
    • Rustic Floating Shelf and Rustic Set Floating Shelves — guaranteed to hold up to 20 pounds when fastened securely to a stud, using the included wood bracket rather than the steel Studlock bracket.
    • Picture Ledge and Bestseller Picture Ledge — guaranteed to hold up to 15 pounds on drywall, and up to 25 pounds when mounted into studs.

Loading a shelf beyond the load figure guaranteed for that shelf — 50 pounds per stud for Studlock Bracket shelves and Studlock Brackets, or the published figure for the lines listed above — or installing it in any way other than the supplied instructions describe, is a misuse condition. Failure resulting directly from overloading, or from an installation that does not follow those instructions, is not covered.

Workmanship and Factory Finish

  • All labor and workmanship. If we built it wrong, we fix it.
  • Factory-applied paint, stain and top coat, against defects in application such as peeling, bubbling, delamination, cracking or adhesion failure under normal indoor conditions.

Finish coverage applies to the factory-applied finish only. Refinishing after delivery does not void this warranty, but a finish applied by anyone other than UltraShelf is not covered by it. Normal wear, fading from UV exposure, and damage from cleaning chemicals or abrasives are not covered. Finish colors may vary in shade due to the wood's natural characteristics, and shelves are not replaced for color differences. Paint color match is likewise not a finish defect. UltraShelf will paint a shelf in any Sherwin-Williams color and offers a color of the month, but paint reads differently between batches, under different lighting, and against a screen or a printed color chip; shelves are not replaced because the delivered color did not match a color-match expectation.

If any covered component fails due to a manufacturing defect at any point during your ownership, UltraShelf will repair or replace the defective component at no charge for parts or standard ground shipping within the continental United States.

UltraShelf Shipping Guarantee

UltraShelf guarantees the replacement of any shelves damaged during shipping at no additional cost, provided that the damage is reported within 30 days of receipt. You will be held liable for damages reported more than 30 days after the confirmed delivery date.

To file a shipping damage claim, submit a photograph of the damage along with a written description to support@ultrashelf.com. Include your order number. This applies to damaged shelves and damaged brackets alike.

What Is Not Covered

This warranty and the shipping guarantee do not cover:

  • Pre-existing conditions or damages present in home or office prior to purchase.
  • Damages resulting from fire, vandalism, improper installation, misuse, or unauthorized modifications.
  • Damages resulting from natural disasters or "acts of God," including but not limited to flooding, earthquakes, or lightning.
  • Damages caused by the purchaser.
  • Normal wear and tear, including the natural aging and patina of wood surfaces over time.
  • Cosmetic variations in wood grain, color, or texture that are inherent characteristics of natural wood and do not affect function.
  • Damage caused by exposure to extreme moisture, temperature, or environmental conditions outside normal indoor use.
  • Exterior or outdoor installation. UltraShelf products are designed for interior use only.
  • Failure resulting from loading a shelf beyond the load figure guaranteed for that shelf — 50 pounds per stud for Studlock Bracket shelves and Studlock Brackets, or the figure published for shelf lines that do not use the steel Studlock bracket — or from an installation that does not follow the provided installation instructions.
  • Shipping damage not reported within 30 days of receipt (see the Shipping Guarantee above).
  • Swelling, edge-swell, blistering or delamination of the High Density Fiber Board used in our painted shelves caused by exposure to moisture or humidity — including installation in a bathroom, laundry room, or other high-humidity location, and contact with standing water, steam, or spills. Manufacturing defects in that board remain covered for the lifetime of the product; damage from the environment it is installed in does not.
  • Consumable products, cutting tools, and hardware sold separately. The following are not covered by this warranty, and the manufacturer's own warranty, if any, applies instead: board and wood care products, oils and finishes sold as consumables, including the Walrus Oil Cutting Board Oil & Care Kit; cutting tools, which dull and wear out in normal use by design, including the Router Bit, the Ultra, DIY and Mantel Auger Bits, and the Ultra, DIY and Mantel Drilling and Routing Jigs; fasteners and anchors sold separately from a bracket, including Tapcon Screws, the Drywall Toggle Anchor, and Wood Screws for Brackets; and third-party branded products sold through UltraShelf. Tapcon is a trademark of its respective owner and Walrus Oil is a product of Walrus Oil; UltraShelf does not warrant either. The fasteners supplied with your bracket remain fully covered under Hardware above — this exclusion applies only to hardware bought separately.
  • On-site service travel expenses.
  • Third-party costs including uninstallation, reinstallation, painting, drywall repair, or other work performed by parties other than UltraShelf.

Who's Covered

Proof of purchase (order number or receipt) is required for any claim.

Orders placed on or after October 8, 2026. This warranty extends to the original purchaser at the original delivery address, and is non-transferable.

Orders placed before October 8, 2026. The non-transferability restriction above does not apply to your order. It applies prospectively only, to orders placed on or after October 8, 2026. Your order is governed by whichever terms are more favorable to you — the warranty terms in effect when you ordered, or these terms. UltraShelf extends added coverage backward; it does not extend new restrictions backward.

How to Make a Warranty Claim

  1. Submit a photograph of the issue along with a written description to support@ultrashelf.com. Include your order number.
  2. Our team will review the photographs and diagnose the issue.
  3. If it is covered, we will ship replacement parts at no charge for parts or standard ground shipping within the continental United States.
  4. If you need help installing the replacement, reach out and we will walk you through it.

You can also reach our support line at 888-523-5575 during business hours.

Custom Products

All UltraShelf shelves are custom and made to order. Custom shelves are covered under this warranty against manufacturing defects on exactly the same terms as everything else. Returning a custom shelf is governed by our Refund Policy, but this warranty applies in full either way.

Returns vs. Warranty

Returns and warranty are separate. If you want to return a product, see our Refund Policy, which sets out the return window, the RMA process, and the terms that apply to custom shelves. If you want to repair or replace a product that is covered under this warranty, follow the claim process above.

Common Warranty Questions

How long is the UltraShelf warranty?

UltraShelf offers a Lifetime Warranty on Hardware, Wood & Workmanship. Steel Studlock brackets, the UltraBracket™, solid hardwood shelves and mantels, the High Density Fiber Board body in our painted shelves, the factory-applied finish, and all labor and workmanship are covered for the lifetime of the product for the original purchaser.

How much weight will my shelf hold?

Studlock Bracket shelves and Studlock Brackets are guaranteed to support up to 50 pounds per stud when installed according to the provided installation instructions. Shelf lines that do not use the steel Studlock bracket are guaranteed to the figure published on their own product page, and that figure is warranted here too: the Rustic Floating Shelf and Rustic Set Floating Shelves hold up to 20 pounds when fastened securely to a stud on the included wood bracket, and the Picture Ledge and Bestseller Picture Ledge hold up to 15 pounds on drywall or up to 25 pounds when mounted into studs. Check the figure for the specific shelf you bought.

Is the warranty transferable if I sell my home?

For orders placed on or after October 8, 2026, no — the warranty extends only to the original purchaser at the original delivery address and is non-transferable. That restriction does not reach back: it does not apply to orders placed before October 8, 2026, which are governed by whichever terms are more favorable to the customer. Proof of purchase is required for any claim.

Are painted shelves covered?

Yes. Our painted shelves are made of High Density Fiber Board so there are no knots and cracks, giving them a smooth finish. Both the board body and the factory-applied paint are covered for the lifetime of the product under the terms above. One environmental limit applies: High Density Fiber Board swells when it gets wet, so swelling, edge-swell, blistering or delamination caused by moisture or humidity — a bathroom, a laundry room, steam, standing water or spills — is not covered. A manufacturing defect in the board is covered for the lifetime of the product.

What if my shelves arrived damaged in shipping?

Submit a photograph of the damage along with a written description to support@ultrashelf.com within 30 days of receipt, including your order number. UltraShelf will replace shelves damaged during shipping at no additional cost.

General Warranty Terms

This warranty is provided to the original purchaser and proof of purchase is required for all claims. MD Ultrashelf Inc reserves the right to inspect returned components before shipping replacements. Authorization must be obtained before returning any component; email support@ultrashelf.com to receive an RMA number, which must be written on the outside of the returned box. MD Ultrashelf Inc may, at its sole discretion, choose to repair, replace, or provide a refund for the defective component. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state. This warranty replaces all prior warranty language published by UltraShelf, including the warranty terms previously set out in the UltraShelf Shipping Policy, and supersedes any conflicting warranty language in other UltraShelf publications. These terms take effect on October 8, 2026. For orders placed before October 8, 2026, whichever terms are more favorable to the customer apply — either the warranty terms in effect at the time of the order, or these terms, whichever gives the customer the greater coverage. The lifetime coverage set out above is therefore available on orders placed before October 8, 2026 as well. Restrictions introduced by these terms, including the non-transferability restriction in Who's Covered, apply prospectively only, to orders placed on or after October 8, 2026, and do not reduce the coverage of an earlier order.
