Description

This is the board people build a whole spread on: solid walnut, the darkest and richest of our board woods, with a deep chocolate tone and a subtle grain that makes cheeses, cured meats, and fruit look their best. It comes big — five lengths from 24 inches up to a generous 72 — with rounded edges and a built-in handle that doubles as a hook for hanging it on the wall between gatherings. Where most store-bought boards are thin acacia or bamboo, this is solid American hardwood with real weight and presence.

It is finished with Walrus Oil, a food-safe treatment, so it is ready to serve on directly and keeps easily: hand-wash with gentle soap and water, dry it right away, and skip the dishwasher. Made in the USA, and because it is real walnut, each board carries its own grain, color, and the occasional knot — which is exactly why it lands so well as a wedding or housewarming gift.

Nothing Special

We already own a really nice 40” charcuterie board, but wanted something shorter for those times when we have smaller parties. In spite of the use of walnut I found the item to seem cheap, given the fact that there was what appeared to be a sealer on it. I also didn’t like the design of the handle in once I experienced it in person. I returned it, and given the fact that return shipping wasn’t covered I won’t be ordering anything from Ultra Shelf again. If a vendor doesn’t have enough faith in their products to take the risk of providing return shipping I see no reason to show faith in them either.

I love this board!

This board is a stunning color and it takes hosting a party to the next level. So far I've used it seven or eight times and every time I throw a party, people ask where I got the board. It's a showstopper. I wanted to buy something handmade and though the board is more expensive than something you could get at Walmart, the quality is really unbeatable and I feel like the price is worth it for a real-wood, handmade board.

Poor finish quality and color

Bought as a gift and very disappointed.Light hazel (not walnut) color, grainy and uneven finish, board was not finish sanded so there are bumps and burrs. This is not the quality one would expect from an item of this price.

Beautiful

I used the charcuterie board tonight for the first time and it was a hit! The wood is strikingly thick and beautiful. I had a simple spread of food, but the walnut background elevated even the raw broccoli! This is a life-long piece. The board lives displayed on one of my Ultra Shelf white oak shelves and looks absolutely beautiful. I love it.
