For shelves that are 1.25" and 1.75" thick, we use high quality hardwood. For all other thickness values we use high quality real wood veneer. We use these materials to create solid shelves that are designed to combine strength with style. You'll never have to compromise on aesthetics or functionality again.

A white oak floating shelf earns its place the moment it goes up. White oak is the wood people ask for by name — an open, warm grain and a light, even tone that sits as easily in a bright kitchen as in a quiet hallway. Because we build each one to order, it arrives at the exact length and depth your wall calls for rather than the nearest size a store happened to stock: as slim as 1.25 inches for a clean ledge, up to a bold 7 inches with real presence, cut to your measurement down to the eighth of an inch. It holds the books you actually reread, the framed photographs, and the things a room gathers, and it looks settled there because it was made for that wall and no other.
Underneath, it is solid hardwood construction, and what carries it is a hidden Studlock steel bracket — included with every shelf and matched to the size you order, so you never have to guess which bracket fits. The support does the work and takes none of the attention: you see white oak and whatever you set on it, not a screw, not a corbel, nothing propping it up. Fastened properly into the studs, the bracket holds up to fifty pounds per stud, ready for a full row of hardcovers or a season of everyday display. Finish it to match the room — leave it Unfinished to seal yourself, or choose Natural Clear Coat, Nature, Classic Gray, Umber Gray, Pickled White, or Antique.

How much weight can a floating shelf bracket hold?
An Ultrashelf bracket can hold 50lbs per each wall stud that it’s attached to. So if your bracket is attached to two studs, your shelf can hold 100lbs; three studs can hold 150lbs, and so on.

Yes. For an additional fee, we can custom stain your shelf with any Minwax stain. We also offer custom paint jobs for any Benjamin Moore or Sherwin-Williams color.
How do I choose the right shelf length?

We can cut your shelf to any length from 12" to 90". We are able to cut down to an 1/8" increment to fit your exact space.
To specify an exact length that is more specific than an inch, first round the measurement to next inch and select that inch in the drop down option then enter in the exact length in the box below the drop down. For example, if you need a shelf that is 15-3/8" then select 15" from the drop down option then in the box below the drop down enter 15-3/8"
Can I use the bracket with my own shelf?

Our shelves are specially designed to fit onto our innovative bracket. That being said, you can build a shelf using our router and jigs that will fit our bracket. This is a great option if you have a piece of wood that you'd like to turn into a shelf.

While we don’t make corner shelves, you can create and customize your own corner floating shelves with Ultrashelf by using two separate shelves in an L formation.

At Ultrashelf, we promise to always use the best materials available to craft heirloom quality shelves for your home. By never cutting corners, we guarantee a high-end shelving system that holds 50 lbs per stud that it's attached to.
The fabrication of the mounting brackets for strength and being true to level across its length is impressive. The quality of the wood cutting and bracket boring is very good. This said, two sold thicknesses such as the 1.75 inch are solid hardwood - while strong, they are made of married lengths of different boards - you can have fairly extreme differences in the grain appearance and wood color on the exposed shelf surfaces. See photo. I assume the veneer finished board sizes don't have this marriage of wood aesthetic issue. As well, the shelf and metal brackets are quite heavy. When mounted through Sheetrock to studs the weight will compress the Sheetrock and create some drooping. You can address this by removing the wood shelf, loose ikg the bracket screws and putting shims between the bottom length of the bracket and the wall.

I Love the shelves and the shade, it doesn’t have a yellow undertone, they look so beautiful in my kitchen. I can’t get enough of looking at them, it makes my kitchen look complete. We watched the video on the website and followed the instructions provided with the shelves and put them together with my husband. For 36” wide shelves we had 2 studs behind the drywall but for 25” wide shelves only one stud and way left of the center of the bracket so we used drywall anchors 1/8”for the right side, worked perfectly. The customer service is very nice and supportive, they responded within 24 hours, as I know people are busy so I usually give the business time to respond. I would like to thank the entire team for their help and support. Liz did a wonderful job helping me to choose the color of the shelves and the thickness as I was indecisive. I will definitely purchase from UltraShelf again as I have another project on the way.

I integrated ultra floating shelves in my kitchen remodelling and the result was great. The shelves not only make for a stylish design, they also provide ample storage for cookbooks and other things.
All you have to know is the length, and how many, and you can choose your stain or paint color. I received my shelves faster than expected, and I LOVE them!!! The built in brackets are fantastic, and you can slide the shelves off of them, to make painting easier. Will always recommend this company!

Good craftsmanship of the Mount and such but for this order my solid wood shelf was made of 2 pieces of wood and the color and grain do not match very well at all. Pretty disappointed for the price point.
