DIY Auger Bit for DIY Brackets

I have yet to use the bit. First bit delivered did not fit in the jig. Sent pictures and quick response initially from customer service. After knowing they sent me a bad bit, it took another email 3 days later to get them to finally send me another. They didn’t actually send it, they just created a label. I sent another email 4 days later and they said they sent it again.

Everything I have purchased has been fantastic. Will purchase again. Bob

The tool was good quality but I struggled to keep the auger from grabbing the aluminum guide that helps for hole placement. A couple of my holes got drilled at an angle and came through the side of the wood.

This auger bit struggled with the hardwood butcher block I was drilling. I actually drilled 1/2" wholes with a regular bit before using the 9/16" bit. Even with that the bit would jam and I would need to back it out several times. It took a long time to drill 8 holes for my two shelves.

Hard to work with hard woods. **** tip is too aggressive and causes serious torque. It picked up my whole work bench along with the shelf.

Bit hogs out material from holes and makes quick work of this job. Be sure to get the drilling and routing jigs to get a perfect and easy fit.

The auger bit was perfect fit for the jig and accepted the stud from the shelf perfectly. Worth buying from website to ensure proper size

Go slow. Grabs hard. Stayed fairly sharp from one hole to the next. The auger bit guide didn’t last. It broke on the first hole. Welds broke. Had to drill multiple holes by plain visual sight. Go slow.

The Auger works just fine. The guide they get you to buy with it is too large and absolutely worthless.

I ordered the shelf bracket and auger kit but the bit was clearly too small for the size of the holes that I needed to drill (3/4 inch) so I had to but another bit. So a waste of time and money. Floating bracket was great however.
